Oklahoma has a lot of wind, and it can get hot in the summer.

But the cost of living is awesome. It's one of the few places where the average cost of a new home still has a reasonable relationship to the local average wages.

Excellent reason too. I bought a ranch with a very nice home equal to the home I had in the upper Midwest for the same price except the home in the upper midwest only had an acre compared to almost 300 acres here.

If you weren't watching the news.... West Oklahoma had a tornado yesterday. Nobody was hurt or killed though...

you know ive notice some people flip out over the little things. alot of times the 'weatherman' says get ready for some bad weather. most of the time its not all that bad. and yes there is wind and tornadoes but if you just know what to do you should be alright. and well i come from a place that has more wind than here in Ok. and another thing is every part of OK has different weather patterns

I've spent a lot of time in OK over the last 20 years. I cannot say the weather is extreme nor is it quick to change. Windy? You bet. forget about combing your hair. I've noticed that the weather pattern is like this: June = 80's, July = 90's, August = 100. The winter can be bitterly cold with little to no snow. Fortunately it is a very short winter.
One thing I did notice is you never see anyone outside. I think they al stay in for the air conditioning?

It may not stop blowing at night, either.
