Omaha by far the largest city on the list. Kind of an odd collection one city was as small as 15K.

Suwanee, GA was the city with 15k population. I live five minutes from it, but I wouldn't necessarily classify it as a small town....not a small, stand-alone town, anyway. It is part of the vast suburban sprawl on the north side of Atlanta.

I don't know how the school systems would compare, but I would give Omaha higher ratings in all the other categories Kiplinger used for their research.

Ahh gotcha. I am sure the rest of those are mostly suburbs as well then. I'll say Omaha is the biggest core city on the list .

On school districts there are 4 in Omaha. 3 suburban districts that still exist after their cities were annexed and Omaha Public School which has the lowest scores in the city, but also has by a large amount the most students growing up in poverty.

Millard Public Schools, one of the suburban districts, are often national ranked in the top districts in the country.
