I finally got here to Omaha, decided on an apartment in West Omaha because it is near my boyfriends work, new, and still in our price range. Anyways, now that we're here - we're wondering what to do for fun!

I've heard of the zoo, but does anyone have other suggestions? Since the weather is suppose to be nice today and tomorrow, maybe some outdoor activities?

Thanks

If you like baseball, you could catch a Royals game. I know not many people attend the games, but you could also get a look at Rosenblatt which is obviously an important part of Omaha history. If you got bored with the game you could head over to the Zoo.

BTW, if you take any Our Family canned food to the game on Sunday you get a free general admission ticket. Normal ticket prices are only $6-$10 each.

There are many other options, but I thought I would throw this out there.

Default here are a few to start with...

here are a few to start with...
Things To Do - Omaha Convention & Visitors Bureau
Omaha Attractions, Venues, Omaha Museums and Things to do.
omahanightlife.com
Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership
Omaha City Weekly

I agree, this is a big judgement call 'I' don't want to lead you into the wrong direction..

Here are a few sites you may go to access a whole lot of 'things to do' information.

Well west Omaha has all of its malls and shopping centers if that interests you, though I wouldn't advise going to crossroads mall.

If you want to "get out of town" here is a link to Sarpy Tourism... visit the vineyard, SAC Musuem, Mahoney Park, etc... all just a few minutes south of Omaha.

Thanks everyone!!

We ventured around in the car today just driving pretty quickly through all the different areas we wanted to see, downtown (that big park, Dodge Park? looks awesome...yes, no?), Council Bluffs (Saw the casinos, went to Bass Pro Shop), and then drove thru Bellevue and Papillion (VERY cute area to live it looks like). Tomorrow we are going to check out downtown a little closer up - if the weather doesn't get too terrible anyways!

Thanks again I'll check out all the ideas, I'm up for anything

One thing that Omaha consistently ranks near the top of is our willingness to participate in sports activities. When the NFL brought in their Air it Up! flag football tournament, we had a huge turnout. There's a lot of softball/volleyball/golf leagues.
