Nobody is saying it would be a horrible idea. I'm simply telling you why it didn't happen. I-29 connects Sioux Falls, Sioux City, Omaha, and Kansas City, while also servicing a larger population in Iowa.

The major cities of Nebraska are pretty much already captured by its current location. I don't see any advantage to it going through Iowa. Its not about whether or not they can build it or not. Its about serving the largest amount of people for the least amount of money.

Nobody said it can't be done. But when given two choices and there is no strong advantage to either one you do the one that is cheapest.

That's fine. I never said that people couldn't disagree with me. I just HATE the idea of people calling me a troublemaker, or worse a troll. Not that anyone did, but that's the vibe I was getting from all these posts.

I came up with an idea yesterday: How about they built I-29 through Nebraska so it can serve Omaha directly, then somewhere north of Blair, it goes into Iowa. That way, it doesn't have to go through those hills in northern Nebraska and can serve Sioux City. Compromise?

Of course, now that it's already been built, that will never happen. So I don't need to be reminded of that.
