Apt companies demand almost perfect credit. Any collections from previous apt rentals will fail your application. Your best bet is to try a private party
rental from craigslist and pay a 1 month security deposit.

Many people are looking to rent out a room in their house to someone that has a good steady job. This could be an option that puts a roof over your head and helps you get your affairs in order and provide an excellent reference when you are ready to fly solo. Something to think about. Good luck to you.

You might want to consider a private rental which someone owns and then rents out. They may charge a higher deposit/security to cover any concerns. I would suggest you also contact a company that can help improve your credit. Not one that re-negotiates the terms of your bad credit and takes the difference, rather one that will charge you a static monthly fee to improve your credit. One such company is Veracity.
Best of luck!
