I like LA, not Long Beach because I have aspirations of dreams of becoming a star (just dreams). Singing, acting, etc. Even if it has the feel of LA, its not LA without the Hollywood sign.
You realize that there are major television shows, movies, commercials, and music videos made in Long Beach all the time, right?

Sure. I just like L.A better. I can't verbalize why. I just do.

I honestly don't think there's anywhere OC that's similar to Hollywood/LA. Even CM, SA and Anaheim are still incredibly suburban compared to LA.

And Long Beach is pretty awesome. More texture than Orange County, great music scene, more laid back. I personally really like LB.

There really isn't anywhere in Orange county that is quite like Los Angeles but parts of Orange county remind me of metro LA cities like Pasadena, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. Cities like Newport Beach, Laguna Beach have similarities with Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Irvine reminds of Pasadena.

Maybe think of micro-environments....in other words there might be a niche neighborhood in one of those OC cities. The entire city may feel nothing like LA but the right neighborhood (housing and amenities) can make a world of difference in your emotional health!

(I'm an outsider so I have nothing specific to recommend...just speaking in generalities! Good luck!)

Well that is okay because the OP asked this question 11 years ago.
