My wife is an RN so finding her a job should be fairly easy and I'm a fireman who can transfer to a station in Northern Calif. and commute.I love the way Oregon looks and just can' t stand the demographics or politics of Calif. anymore. My son and I are into hunting, shooting etc. and we camp and have off road toys. Looking for any suggestions on locations, good school districts and all around good place in the area to raise my family. Any and all suggestions appreciated. We are going to come up in April to visit the area first hand but want to get a start on this ASAP, I need out!! Thank you.

Howdy Justin,
I don't know much about these towns but i've heard some folks on the forum threads that are happy there, & in towns closer to the border like Talent & Selma. They are small towns.

Following is one of the local tv websites so you can get an idea of the local news KOBI5/KOTI2

A friendly fishing forum with good folks is www.oregonfishingforum.com
Some of the members live & fish in southern Oregon.

For well over 4 lustrums we've happily lived in the mountains nw of Grants Pass. We truly love living here.

Best of luck to you in finding your place bro.

p.s. this is the Grants Pass online paper

We buy most of our vittles in GP.

Merlin is another small town you can search for some land by. It's a few miles north of GP.

Hawk J,
Thanks for the reply. I'm not opposed to going as far as GP, Eagle Point, or Rogue River. What part NW are you in? Just trying to explore the entire area. Thanks
Justin

I live on a beautiful forested mountain, west of Wolf Creek. Wolf Creek is 20 mile north of Grants Pass

Glendale is another nice little town, 10 mile north of Wolf Creek, by Azalea.

Sunny Valley is 15 mile north of GP.

Hugo is 12 mile north of GP.

Have a Great Day.

Yes.

Latino mostly, but the wannabe’s are forming a few of their own also. Drugs are a problem, but not as bad as here in Coos County. But then drugs are only a problem if you are not an addict. Some people like it the way it is.
