If you can't trust NOAA who can you trust?

Incidently, I drove bakery truck for a living. Generally from 1;00 AM until 2:30 PM. On Mondays and Thursdays I could be on the road as long as 3:30 - 4:00. So I have been conditioned to driving. This past July, my son and I drove non stop from Seattle to Phoenix.
It took us 27 hours. We stopped only for Breakfast, lunch and Supper. So when someone says an all day trip, I have a different perspective. I am not trying to start an argument, or be a smartxxx I just think differently than a lot of people.
My ideal Spot has a minimal amount of rainfall, but not desert. I like green grass, forests, mountains, a close proximity to the Ocean, Moderate temperatures, population between 30,000 and 50,000, laid back people. Grants Pass seems to grade high in these conditions.
The biggest problem is the distance from Seattle, where all my children and Grandchildren live. If there is an area with similar conditions in Oregon, which is closer to Seattle, I would appreciate someone telling me about it. Roseburg came in a close second, but I have been warned that there are some real strange people living in and around that area. So my question at this time seems to be does another eutopia, such as I see Grants Pass to be, in the North Western quadrant of the state in which I can find similar conditions??

You have a long list of wants, and not everything on the list can work.

Granted, weather isn't everything, but here is a quick weather comparison.

Walla Walla, WA - not as green, not near the coast, but sunny with less rain.
Rainfall (in.) 16.6
Snowfall (in.) 19.3
Precipitation Days 107
Sunny Days 188
Avg. July High 89°
Avg. Jan. Low 27.8°

Hood River, OR (icy in the winter but sunnier than Portland)
Rainfall (in.) 30
Snowfall (in.) 32.3
Precipitation Days 126
Sunny Days 144
Avg. July High 81°
Avg. Jan. Low 27.8°

Towns in the Willamette Valley have weather similar to Portland, within a couple percent of these figures:
Portland
Rainfall (in.) 42.4
Snowfall (in.) 3.3
Precipitation Days 158
Sunny Days 124
Avg. July High 79°
Avg. Jan. Low 36.6°

Eugene
Rainfall (in.) 45.7
Snowfall (in.) 6
Precipitation Days 142
Sunny Days 145
Avg. July High 82°
Avg. Jan. Low 33°

Roseburg
Rainfall (in.) 33
Snowfall (in.) 2.4
Precipitation Days 136
Sunny Days 182
Avg. July High 85°
Avg. Jan. Low 35.4°

Grants Pass
Rainfall (in.) 30.8
Snowfall (in.) 3.9
Precipitation Days 113
Sunny Days 190
Avg. July High 90°
Avg. Jan. Low 32.5°

Medford
Rainfall (in.) 19
Snowfall (in.) 3.4
Precipitation Days 98
Sunny Days 199
Avg. July High 90°
Avg. Jan. Low 30.5°

Now you have to look at city size, traffic, quality of life, crime, hospitals, housing cost, distance to where you want to live, etc etc.

For the heck of it, the Oregon coast:

Seaside
Rainfall (in.) 76.9
Snowfall (in.) 1.9
Precipitation Days 197
Sunny Days 118
Avg. July High 67
Avg. Jan. Low 37

Newport
Rainfall (in.) 67.8
Snowfall (in.) 1
Precipitation Days 179
Sunny Days 146
Avg. July High 64
Avg. Jan. Low 38.4

Brookings
Rainfall (in.) 78
Snowfall (in.) 0.5
Precipitation Days 138
Sunny Days 191
Avg. July High 67
Avg. Jan. Low 40.9

the things missing from the coast weather numbers are WIND and humidity

Did you have a look at Cottage Grove or McMinnville?

Thank you again, for all your work. I have this information in my files. I have studied every major city over 20,000 in Washington and Oregon. I have already come to the conclusion that Grants Pass is a best fit for me. I don't like snow and I don't like deserts. (Temps over 100 for long periods) I believe Grants Pass is the best fit. Roseburg would fit, were it not for the Red necks and violent lefters. I had every base covered until I did a Google search on average snow fall and this site came up with outlandish snow levels. I needed to know if that was indeed factual. I had read from contacts on this forum, but when NOAA puts it's name on it, you start to doubt the forum. I asked, and after several
around the park answers, was able to nix NOAA. I don't want to live in snow or day after day rain like I experienced in Washington. Eastern Washington gets to much snow for my desires, too dry in the summer. Grants Pass is a best fit but is a long way from my Family in Washington. Now if I could move Grants Pass weather up to Green Mountain, by Hillsboro, that would be my destination, but I can't. So I think I still have Grants Pass on my radar. Thanks again,
Slowink

You, of course, must be joking? I said moderate rainfall. With these numbers I could move to Seattle.
Thanks though for your contribution. Slowink

I don't know much about Roseburg (other than it has a VA facility and McMenamin's brewpub that I have stopped at) but I am doubting that this is an accurate description of the people.

OMG; I don't know why I never thought of this before. I went to Grants Pass, Oregon Homepage. They have a link to Grants pass weather. They give a link to weatherbase.com.
Weather base has an archival log of 70 years. They show all the information one could possibly think of. Incidentally, the average snowfall is 4.5 inches. Jan. 2.2, Feb. 0.9, Mar. 0.4, Nov. 0.1, Dec. 0.9. Had I gone there I would not have gotten the angry responses I received. For those of you that want the answers go to weatherbase.com. Slowink
