Hello, everyone! My family and I will be moving to Beaverton soon for work. We currently reside in California, and shop at Save Mart for groceries. They have incredibly low prices, but still offer decent quality grocery and produce options, and the stores are clean and nice.

I know that this is only a California chain, so my question is: are there any similar style chains in Beaverton? I am not big on Grocery Outlet - the ones here often sell things that are very close to expiration or already expired items. We have Safeway out here, but they are double the price of Save Mart. I have been Googling and found Fred Meyer and Bi-Mart. Can I use coupons and get groceries cheap from either of those stores?

Please forgive my ignorance, and thank you in advance for your help!

WINCO is hands down the best grocery store in Portland, overall. An incredible bulk food section and cheapest prices in all of Portland. There are 3 in the SW area, 7501 SW Dartmouth, 1500 SW Oak (Hillsboro) and 7330 NE Butler (Hillsboro).

Thanks for your replies! We don't shop in bulk. Just in two week increments at a time. Are those stores still good for regular grocery shopping? Thank you!

Oh, I call shopping for the week, bulk. I have heard good things about Grocery Outlet.

Again, WINCO is easily the best unless you have money to burn.

I get some things there.

You just have to understand that they're something of an overstock store. e.g. They may only have one flavor of Ben & Jerry's for months, but it will be $2/pint. I got a quart of chocolate fudge brownie there for $2.99 a few months ago and was pretty stoked.

Also, full and pudgy.

I spend so much money on ice cream as that's everyone's favorite treat in my house. I think the regular price on B and J's per pint is pretty good at Target but $3 for a quart is amazing. We also have lactose issues and some brands are much better on the system. B and J and Double Rainbow are faves. I should check out the GO in Beverton this week. Thanks!
