Hi all! I'm a young 20 something woman hopefully moving from upstate ny to the Orlando area next month and I really need some help w/ my decision since my only experiences w/ Orlando were a couple Disney trips as a kid.

My roommate was doing the Disney college program for a year and now wants to make a permanent move down there.

I basically need some advice on good places to live, my roommate will be working for Disney and I'll be serving/ bartending so nothing too pricey, but nothing too unsafe either.

I was looking at the Park Central apartment complex near millenia mall, it seems nice from the website, but the proximity to the OBT makes me nervous, not such a nice area right? Anybody have any experience w/ it?

My roommate wants to live near Lake Buena Vista/ Kissimmee since it will be close to her work, but I'm kinda thinking it might be a boring place to live/ a lot of families?

Were both college grads are there any good places to mingle w/ other young professionals? Hows the dating scene, etc?

Thank You!

I've lived in Park Central before and the place was fine (at least back almost 10 years ago) but the area surrounding it is really, really bad. I would not feel safe there. You would be better off living near Disney off of 535. Really any place around Millenia Mall (except the shopping centers themselves) is bad news.

Ideally, downtown would fit what you're looking for but it will be more expensive, I would imagine, than a place in Lake Buena Vista. You can always drive to downtown to socialize, though
