Some subdivisions around Orlando, where homes are owned primarily by citizens of the UK, hold their Florida subdivision HOA meetings *in* the UK. Obviously a pain for those who actually live in the Florida subdivisions.

Is this legal? Can a majority of UK residents legally stipulate that the annual homeowner's association meeting be in the UK? Or can they get away with it because perhaps no U.S. citizens have complained? Could one homeowner object and force the HOA meeting to be held in Florida?

Where can I find a definitive legal answer? It seems strange to me that an HOA meeting for a subdivision in Florida could ever legally be held in another country--unless there was a unanimous decision by all homeowners in the subdiv to do so.

Might make sense of 100% of the owners in a particular subdivision actually lived in the UK and operated their homes in Florida exclusively as rental properties. But what about U.S. citizens who actually live in the Florida home?

Thanks.
