I am thinking of moving to the area and have been living in South FL. I have been looking in Lake Mary area or similar. These seem safe overall. Anyhow a concern for me is the crime levels I see for Orlando even compared to other large cities. Is this just in specific areas but those areas contain a lot of it? How do you feel in terms of safety where you are? I know crime is everywhere but just when I see larger numbers it does make me nervous. Thank you

I think you will find it mostly stemming from a few zip codes. Places like Windermere tends to have none, except last year with the golf club beating and 1 murder... their first. Lake Mary certainly has some very low crime areas but I'd bet as you approach Sanford it may rise some...

Currently live in the Lake Mary area and personally don't have any issues, can't get wife to look at other areas due to closeness to kids.

If you're coming from SFL you'll have no problem. The crime here is confined to certain areas.

When looking to move, crime is my number one concern. I live in Lake Mary and like I tell everyone here, it's the only place I'd live in FL-family friendly, everything is right here you would need, safe , amazing schools, etc...good luck!
