Your situation is worse - you have no degree, have expensive tuition fees, and still have the same rent and food expenses as anyone else. I wouldn't make that move without at least $8,000 in my bank if not more.

Well, the only thing I really have to worry about is rent(which I'm splitting with someone else) and food.. Aside from that, everything else for the most part is taken care of. But, I'm far from having 8,000+..

Does anyone else agree with that? Will I really need that much saved up to keep afloat until I find a job?

Yeah, Your from out of state. Tuition is higher and it's just SAFE to have it, FASFA is always ****in up, plus your expenses here might be a little higher so it's just best tophave a decent amount.

Look man think of it this way, 3 months is not unheard of to find a job and that's not a good job but a publix type of job.

In 3 months you're going to need to get a place to live: $100 fee and $400 for rent assuming you'll have roommate. Two more months is another $800. That's $1300.

Utilities are going to be about $70/mo and that doesn't include if you want internet and/or television. Even no tv you'll want internet and the cheapest is $29.00/mo pretending a roommate that's $15 so $85.00 a month. So $255 total

Food is going to be about $80/wk minimum. That's $320/mo so $1280 total. Then when you first move in your going to need kitchen supplies and cleaning products so figure another one time payment of $200.

Now that is as if you're not leaving your house. You're going to need to drive to classes and to job interviews. That means gas - $30/wk is $240/mo is another $960 total.

You think you're going to go out at all in 3 months? A bite to eat with a new friend? A drink with your roommate? Clubs with some cute freshmen girls? Another $150/mo at least will go to entertainment. That's $450.

$450
$960
$1480
$255
$1300
-------
Total: $4445 this is with no traveling, no trips back home, little eating out/entertainment, no television, a roommate, and for 3 months. And no textbooks, school supplies, clothing, or tuition. So assuming in that 3rd month you get a job making $200 a week after taxes you'll just be covering your rent.

Yes either help from your parents, extensive loans, or a decent savings are going to be necessary. Its just life man. Do the numbers yourself with what you think you'll spend.

Rule of thumb is you need 6 months normal living expenses put back.

With your situation you will need more to cover the extra expenses you will have.

Unless you have some parents to help you or a part time job lined up to cover some of the expenses I do not think you are ready to move yet.

Either your parents already agreed to help you or those aren't your only expenses. Nonetheless its clear you've made up your mind and think you can do it so best of luck to you and welcome to Orlando.
