Would is be safe to walk along Aloma Avenue from the intersection of Aloma and Park to the intersection of Aloma and Lakemount? (say, Rollins College to Whole Foods and back)?

Is that a pedestrian friendly, safe route?

Thank you!

It's very safe area, one of the more affluent parts of Winter Park. As for pedestrian safety there is a sidewalk along the entire route but one area you should pay particular attention is where the road winds (it does a crazy S curve). Some cars unfamiliar with the area take the turn faster than they should. Other than that I think it actually would be a fairly pleasant walk as the street is lined with beautiful homes and shaded by big oaks for the most part.

Agreed, also make sure to use crosswalks if you have to cross, and even then be extra careful--there have been a couple of pedestrian deaths in that area because some people definitely drive too fast.

I drive that route 5 or 6 days a week and the traffic can be rather quick at times, but I would think pretty safe place to walk.

It is safe, but a pretty good hike too. the road is busy so it would warrant care. There are certainly many pretty homes and plants on the way and mostly tree lined so not always in the sun. Lakemont is a pretty busy intersection so , care again.
