I agree with you gogators, the time it takes LEO to respond may be a matter of life or death. I recently heard in the news about a 80 year old lady who just purchased a gun and had some weirdo in her backyard first, then he attempted to break into her house. She was on 911 telling the operator about the guy trying to break in and that she had a gun for protection. To make a long story short, the dude left prior to the police arriving. Then an our or so later, the dude was back and forcefully breaking thru a window. The old lady was again on the 911 line telling the dispatcher she was gonna shoot the guy. The dispatcher told her NOT to do that and to wait for the police to get there. By the time officers arrived , the dude was tasting some lead, courtesy of the old lady protecting herself. If she would have wailted a few more seconds, the dude would have taken her gun and done a number of horrible things to her. Yes, we are a civilized society (most of us) and try to follow the law, but sometimes you can't wait for the law to arrive in time to safe you from bodidy harm and you have to do what it takes to survive.

A firearm is an integral part of the OP's security plan. If you don't like it don't break into the OP's home.
