LOL. If you knew the TRUE history of this country the you would know that most of "handouts" mostly given to whites and their white corporate overlords who continue to receive them in GInormous amounts ad infinitum.

I'd be here sitting at the computer forever if kept naming white "handouts". And there isn't enough server space to mention huge amount of handouts given to corporations. So save that nonsense for the chumps that actually that believe voting is anything more than just a symbolic gesture. These "white handouts" had nothing to do with the government rewarding people for being white. It just so happens that back then (and even now) whites were primarily in power, and they (handouts) benefitted them in the business world, not in a personal way where the government paid for their rent, food stamps, etc, and besides back in 1790 most people grew their own food, they werent able to take a horse ride to their local Publix and just buy food
The government does give better treatment to blacks these days through affirmative action, etc. Not to attack any black people or sound racist, but I think its ridiculous that I see some people wearing $400 Jordans, have a brand new iphone5, a brand new Dodge Charger with 24 inch rims and a sound system loud enough that only a concert could compare to its volume, and they go to stores and say "Yo bruh, I'm payin for diss wit dat ebt" Meanwhile I know plenty of people who are scratching and barely surviving and the state will not give them food stamps or the help they actually need. Before I got 2 jobs, I didnt qualify for food stamps and my after tax income was around $1000 a month
I have a lot of black coworkers at my job, a majority of them work hard, have good attitudes, and have ambition in their lives to do better. Regardless of race I have respect for people who have goals in their lives or choose to better themselves.
Its pretty sad when I see some people at the store go "Yo bruh can I get seven fried chicken tenders" and they hold up 4 fingers as they say "seven"... that actually happened at a Publix in Jacksonville once. I've seen uneducated people of all races do similar things
Ultimately what really needs to be done is we need to get rid of this "gimme gimme gimme" mentality in this country and stop rewarding foolish behavior and giving every child in school a reward for accomplishing nothing. Honor rolls in schools these days are meaningless. In 2008 shortly before George Carlin died in his last album he stated "These days in school, everybody's on the honor because in order to be on the honor roll all you need is to maintain a body temperature somewhere in the 90s" When you have ***** like that going on, its no wonder people get lazy and unmotivated to do any better, every "accomplishment" in their lives has just been handed to them
This would be 50x longer but I have to go to work. Millions of lazy selfish Americans of various races are depending on people like me to pay their way for them...

Davie you went off the rails in closing here, Latin America is mostly socialist countries as well as their fair share of corrupt governments with drug wars and various other major crimes, really not a good alternative IMO..

Wow! My comments: 1. To the poster that asked: ''What are you doing to change the situation? How are you making a difference?" You're right on. 2. To the poster that stated "it's a 'worldwide thing"..not true, it's an individual thing. I regularly have lunches, dinner, BBQ's with my "white-colored skin" friends here in TN, where they eat off of my plates, using my forks. Wonderful God-fearing people that doesn't have issues with such trivial nonsense as skin color, ethnicity, race...etc. 3.. I understand you can't love everybody, that's why we have Jesus, but while here on this earth, I'm teaching my children to chose love, to chose tolerance, to learn to agree to disagree, to stand for what's right and just! Is that the solution for all, maybe not, but this works for me and my house and may just work for whosoever chooses to start with the "man" in the mirror....it's a start.

Not to take this in other directions but good luck with that, maybe once but not now, no one wants except maybe a select few with blinders on and possibly Alzheimer's want her running the country when she can't even protect a consulate in Libya with advance notice and worse yet they ignored the warnings and requests and then lied about the result and who was involved (something EVERY American citizen with an ounce of common sense knew immediately). That smacks of when Bill ignored same and not only was the World Trade centers attacked once under his admin but so was the following attack that took them down just shortly after he left office but the plot was in play during his tenure, complacency and shortsighted thinking seems to run in the family with them..

I encounter plenty of people who treat people as people, individuals as individuals and hold no personal racist views on a one on one basis, but the black race in America is the most universally disliked group as a whole.
Anti Black attitudes have with us since colonial times. They have been held for most of the existence of this country and are socially acceptable as long as you don't display those attitudes too loudly in polite company.

They are also the least hired and most discriminated against.
