I don't have a boat and would like to find some good fishing spots in the Lake Mary/Sanford area. I've had people tell me Lake Monroe, but is there a public pier or easily accessible bank?

Yup and you can fish right off the bank. Just got back from there and there were many people fishing. There are many options there. Yo may want to bring some chairs with you.
