Hey neighbor!

I live in San Francisco currently, but used to live in Orlando (near Disney), still own the house though and plan to move back in a 2-4 years.

Celebration is a unique community compared to the typical Orlando community, which can be good or bad thing depending on the person. It is very safe and the schools are good. However, I think it is overpriced considering the location. I would feel too isolated living there and prefer the typical Floridian architecture home. From what I've heard, there is nothing really wrong with the high school besides lower than average test scores. When it comes to high schools in Orlando, you need to worry about gang member wannabes. Celebration High is below average in this regard. The problem I have with Celebration is its location. It's too far from everything besides Disney.

I would really look into Dr. Phillips (part of Orlando). It is an easy commute to Disney and you can avoid the freeway. The schools are good and it is also very safe. You have many restaurants and grocery stores to choose from. You are near I-Drive, Millennia Mall, Premium Outlets, Universal, Disney, and the communities are overall very nice. The location is much more central to the rest of Orlando as well.

It seems like most people who work in Disney live out the "back end" of Disney = behind the Castle and Magic Kingdom. That is places like Horizon West, Windermere and Winter Garden. They are building like crazy right outside Reams road which is the back entrance. If your kids are in Middle school then IMHO find a house that is zoned for Bridgewater Middle School. It was just rated the # 1 MS in Central Florida. Elementary schools that are good include = Windermere, Lake Whitney, Thornbrooke and Keene's Crossing. Preschools include a lot of franchise options and the YMCA has a preschool right on Disney property that of course caters to Disney employees. Some Disney employees I spoke to that are very educationally oriented towards their kids, have their kids go to Cranium Academy which is also in that same area.

What everyone likes about that area in general is it is so safe and feels like a secluded heaven in the otherwise touch and go pockets of other areas of Orlando. Good luck and I hope you like your stay at Disney!
