we had several gators break into porches in the Tampa bay area couple of years ago- also too much rainwater floods them out as well. One person lost their life sitting on a bank in Plantation, FL. I see one in the mornings on my job near the Orl airport-and now they are building some more stuff so expect to see him/ her or them on the job's lawns any day now. We are ripping into their areas, and we have plenty of land that is RESERVED for just them. thing is we build backing right into the preservation area where they live! Orlando has bears. then the mosquitoes, snakes and spiders,,, well its just a jungle out here, but safer than being on any highway/

They aren't typically removed based on size, they are removed when they become a nuisance or 'comfortable' around humans (usually because some idiot feeds them).

There are gators everywhere...they travel via the sewer systems and have even been spotted in pools. We spot gators in Central FL regularly in retention ponds, lakes, creeks, rivers, etc.

I believe they are now overpopulated in FL due to laws back in the 70s and 80s to increase their population.

Good luck!

Don't mean to offend anyone, but if but if bears, gators , and snakes concern you so much please don't move here.

They're here. Leave them be.

Maybe generally...but in the community we visited, they are removed based on size at least annually.
