Can a realtor help with the purchase of a condotel or do you have to visit a specialist in this area.

Yes a Realtor can help with the purchase of a condo-tel, choosing a realtor that has knowlege particularly about condo-tels is advisable though. I never suggest going in alone and just working with the builders representative.

What buildings in particular piqued your interest?

Thank you Greg for your response to my query. Are there realtors that specialise in vacation rental properterties. How do I find out about these. Amongst others one of the buildings I have been looking at was the Blue Rose.

The Blue Rose is going to an amazing property. I have done some work with it. Last thing I heard was the addition of a snow ski slope for the property, like the one in Dubai. They have presold many units in the project but there are many left to go. The budget for the project exceeds $2B It will be a dstination in itself when completed

There are many that specialize in vacation/rental properties. There are so many options out there now, including condotels, SFR, Townhomes, condo's, and timeshares, that all have different pro's and con's. Only a true specialist will know all the ins and outs of each and be able to match particluar properties to your needs and wants. And most importantly which properties have the best management.

A referral from a friend or coleague is always best, but in leiu of that the only way I can think of to find one is to google search for realtors and interview a few. I know in my office there are a few agents that do almost all their business in vacation and rental properties, I refer all of my clients interested (or with friends interested) in these types of properties in that area all the time.
