Don't get me wrong, there is some serious crime, but the vast majority of it is lifestyle affiliated. I don't know where he is getting the 5-10 overdose info and Syracuse while not huge is the 80th biggest metro in the country out of 381(if not more now) metro areas.

This isn't to mess up the thread, but to put things into perspective.

If you have to live in gated communities with guards in your home town, something is drastically wrong.

There are parts of Syracuse that are every bit as bad as the worst parts of Orlando. You wouldn't last a NY minute on S Salina...

I live in a gated, guarded community. I also live in an area with low crime. The guards keep out the riff raff who want to freeload on the recreational amenities we pay a lot of money for in our HOA dues and particularly on Halloween the candy moochers instead of trick or treating in their own neighborhood.

That was his point. Gotta have guarded community to keep the riff raff out. In FL, if its not nailed down, it will walk away.

I have been to (never lived in) communities in Asheville where homes are expensive and no gate, no guard, no problems.

It's "fentanyl" which is one of the six volatile agents used in surgical procedures. If you're not on the H then you don't have to worry about overdosing from it...

Gated communities are only as safe as their weakest link ~ many gates end in the bushes & your less than savory characters just enter around side of the bushes ~ transponders, fobs & codes ~ guess how many people have those codes & fobs & spare transponders?!!! I've been in the property management business for over ten years & just when you think you've seen it all...well you get the idea ~ Security guards are told to dial 911 first and stay out of the line of fire. HOA's usually don't layout a whole lot of money on their security guards ~ check craigslist & look at the pay ~ really?!

Sometimes I don't think she reads the posts, before she responds.
