This is why I'm a little nervous about charter schools --- some are good, but there's no guarantee about their stability and no quality control about their curriculum.

F-graded Acclaim Academy Charter School in Osceola closing

I can't imagine what the parents are going through. You think you're doing well by trying to find a better school than your neighborhood school, and suddenly your kids are kicked out on the streets, the doors of the school are locked, and with a month left in the school year, you have to try and get your kid enrolled somewhere else.

Pretty shocking stuff. Any parents from Acclaim on this site able to share their experiences?

Well, the public schools legally ahve to find a spot for the child and provide transportation if they can't go to the school they are zoned for.

I think charter schools are overall a disaster and a really, really bad idea.

The big problem is that the districts don't have any say in their operations and finances, yet they are still held accountable for their results.
