While I do enjoy Lake Mary and did live there for a little while, I don't think I would move back, it is getting much more congested and my husband is not a fan of the commute to work from there. They do have lots of great stuff going on though with the Farmers Market and family events in the park.

I try to avoid Maitland, the traffic is horrendous and I think it's difficult to navigate. Oviedo is nice and definitely a better price point if you don't mind the drive. It's just not close to any of our jobs or activities. I LOVE Winter Park, it has a unique atmosphere, very energetic, maybe one day I can afford to live there...

As far as moving, I would do certainly not want to drive a Uhaul that far. I think I'd have to try the Pods, I haven't used them before though so maybe someone else has some insight on that.
Not anymore. Lake Mary is cheaper than Oviedo. One reason we have been looking in Lake Mary and Longwood, more house for the money.

You might also look at the west side of Sanford (west of I-4) where home values tend higher with neighborhoods as nice or nicer than much of Lake Mary/Heathrow, and where schools are as good if not better. You'll encounter a bit of an attitude from some when it comes to Sanford in general as many throw all of it under one umbrella (not safe/undesirable) but in reality not the case at all, especially when much of the west side is indistinguishable from Lake Mary.

I second this. We (kids and I) spend lots of time in West Sanford around the huge sports complex, the Seminole trail, and more. That area is beautiful.

My friend lives in long wood, but he lives close to lake Mary, are long wood and Oviedo close to each other?

Oviedo is about 10 miles (20 minutes) from the center of Longwood. It's farther east after you pass through Winter Springs.

Thanks,

I am looking into a pod vs. movers move at this point. I want to start in Lake Mary/Heathrow as it seems like both a very nice places. Then a few years down if we like it, check out winter park.

The way Lake Mary is developing, I doubt you'd feel the need to move. Lake Mary, Heathrow, West Sanford and Longwood have more than enough to keep you put
