A realtor told me this. If so, why are Floridians against ferrets? I can't understand why, because my ferrets are not destructive unlike the dogs I've owned in the past. I really want to buy a home, but we are still trying to sell ours in Houston, so we would want to find a possible lease option until we can buy.

A lot of places you can't rent with pets in general so maybe thats what the realtor meant. Its all up to the landlord.

No, she told me specifically ferrets. She said I could find people willing to rent to me with dogs & cats. I'm unwilling to get rid of them, because they are adorable and it would break my daughter's heart to do so.

Smile Ferrets?

I had no prior experience with ferrets until I married my husband. I can assure you that the only worry is the carpeting getting soiled and possible complaints of odor if the poop tray isn't kept clean. My husband's female ferret did bite me but it was minor. The pet store sells ferrets here locally and I have not heard of any problem renting with small pets in the Daytona Beach area.

If she didn't draw blood, she was likely just playing. She probably wanted you to chase her. Mine do that sometimes, and it doesn't bother me a bit. Hopefully I can just find a place with hardwood floors so that I don't have to worry about any accidents. They're in the cage the majority of the time anyhow.
