I guess that's good... But IMO, here we go again with another cookie-cutter typical suburb of Orlando. It's going to (already kind of is) start to look just like Oviedo, Winter Springs, Apopka, virtually all of East Orlando, Altamonte... Seems like every suburb in the area looks the same, and none want to have a distinguished look/feel. I wish Metro Orlando would focus more on continuous focus and development of the core areas (downtown, Winter Park, etc.) and less on far outlying areas that up until recently were the few remaining rural swamplands remaining. But I guess money talks: the land is cheap, and developers are coming in with tons of money knowing they will get a heck of an ROI from the influx of northerners constantly moving down.

Completely agree. For the life of me I can not understand the draw of these areas. I work in Lake Nona and wouldn't live here if the houses were free.

One of my friends lives there and really loves it. However, he really likes cleanliness, manicured streets and not seeing things like in your face poverty etc. It's way too boring and isolated for my taste, but I can see how some people are attracted.

I can see how those things are attractive. I got sick of looking at them in San Diego and it's one of the reasons I moved here, because I didn't want it in my face all of the time. And I do like clean streets and new things, but it would be nice if they redeveloped some gross areas of downtown...

I appreciate those things as well, also part of the reason for moving out of California to Orlando and Lake Nona meets those exactly, but what it lacks is restaurants, shops, etc... but it's getting better these days, lots of projects going on now, but there are parts of Orlando I'd much rather live.

I have to agree... I've visited friends there and looked at a few condos but ultimately chose the much "grittier" MetroWest because it's got more going on and is 100 times more convenient to other places. Granted if I had the money I wouldn't live here, but Lake Nona is as cookie cutter as it gets. If that's you're thing by all means go ahead - it's very clean and safe, but if you want your setting to have some sort of personality forget about it.

I can't understate how isolated it is... it's a trek to get anywhere and usually involves paying tolls. I'd stick with one of the more established areas

Yeah I'd have thought about moving there if it were 10 years from now and more built out.

Just looked at google maps. This area looks like it's at the end of the runways at OIA. I wonder if you get a lot of jet noise?
