I am laughing about the Clear Springs announcement for Bartow. I live in Bartow. This was originally announced in 2005. We were all excited about getting a retail area with restaurants and shops. We are still waiting.

yes, 2005 was the peak of the housing boom, then came the crash and lots of proposed plans were eliminated.

Bartow didn't annex 18,000 acres for nothing. Albeit delayed, Clear Springs will still be developed. In the mean time, retail and restaurants will be on the city's northside.

You literally have to live in the pan handle or very close to near it. NW not NE (FL) to experience any kind of country life. These counties, Lake and Polk are not really at all. Not any of the towns in it are. FL is growing too fast to want to live the rural life in 2023+. Anywhere remotely near Orlando won't be rural in 10 yrs give or take from now.
