I’m here in Orlando and the decision I have to make. I like Alafaya/Waterford Lakes. However I told to look into Lake Mary or Claremont. My daughter has been accepted into Seminole and Valencia college.
The big consideration that I have is safety, and nice affordable place to live, (3bdrm $1200-1400). Would that be doable? I’m not too familiar with Lake Mary or Claremont- so any areas too look into or view or zip codes will be great! Any suggestions?

Lake Mary or Waterford Lakes would be my picks.

Clermont would be a tough commute to your daughter’s school, particularly considering traffic. I live in Clermont, and even allowing for some shortcuts and backroads, that’s a formidable trek.

It’s too bad because Clermont is a great place to live in the Orlando area.

I, too, would focus on Lake Mary or Waterford Lakes. Oviedo is another option.

The average one bedroom rents for $1200 per month so finding a three bedroom isn't going to work with your budget, not for nice/safe anyway. Can you get by with a 2 bedroom?

Lake Mary would work for Seminole State, Waterford for Valencia East which is not a main campus, but a large satellite one. Not sure Clermont would really work that well for the main Valencia campus but might be more in your budget. Longwood or Sanford isn't too far from Seminole State and has some houses for rent that might work. Gonna be hard to find a 3 bed in a decent area for that price though.

Do you know if Lake Mary is high on crime? Is is more of family vibe or students etc?

Thank you for feedback but I honestly seen for rent homes in nice areas but not apartments. I just prefer apartment being new to the areas. Yes I do need a 3 bedroom for sure! What are your suggestions in your opinion out of the 3 areas mentioned?

I see- I don’t want to go over my head far as budget as the hourly pay rate is different from my home area. But I definitely have decisions to make

Lake Mary probably has the lowest crime rate in the Orlando metro area.
