I have heard that Orange county and Seminole county would be good areas to live in. I heard that they both have a really good school system. What cities in both counties would you suggest that would be the best. What are would you recommend? As far as good neighborhoods/area and safety goes because the safety of my son comes first. what areas should I stay away from? I am 30 and a single mother and my son is 11 and he will be starting middle school in August. I would like to find a good area for us to live in. I am also looking to rent a house. Can anyone please help.

Orange:

College Park has lots of homes for rent and is a very attractive area.
Winter Park
Winter Garden
Dr. Phillips
Windermere

Those are generally the more popular areas in Orange County. You'd be pretty much safe anywhere in Seminole County. However, people have their opinions about Casselberry and Fern Park.

Fern Park and Casselberry are not as bad as some people on the board would like to make you think. The only thing that makes Fern Park seem bad is a couple of low income apartment complexes along Oxford Rd near English Estates Elementary. There are also some very nice areas in Casselberry, especially along Red Bug Lake Road and in Indian Hills.
