I am a single retired male. I am planning to move to an area near Orlando. My focus is the Kissimmee area. I would like to rent a one or two bed room apartment in a safe gated complex. My budget is $750 to $850 per month but I am not locked into the upper number. I would like the complex to be centrally located to major shopping and restaurants. Can anyone recommend any apartment complexes that I should investigate?

I am also open to the idea of purchasing a condo in Kissimmee after about six months of renting.

Thanks guys
Harry

Why Kissimmee? There are other FAR more desirable areas around Orlando

I am looking in Kissimmee too--- just waiting on a job offer to come through... and why there I have family etc in Clermont- but too far from this job... - and what is up with Poinciana... it's further than I want but cheap!

Poinciana is cheap for a reason, stay far away!!!A lot of Kissimmee is also not good but better than Poinciana but there are some areas like maybe Hunter's Creek that's relatively decent, there's better areas in Orlando but not all of Kissimmee is too bad.I looked at houses in Poinciana about 5 years ago and unless it's improved 1000% it's not even worth your time to look there.Even if the crime, amount of shady characters, abandoned and uncared for houses has improved one thing that can't is it's location,it's basically one road in and one road out and very far away, like it takes 30-40 minutes just to get to Kissimmee.

I think that be a grinding daily drive to my job on the east side of Orl. airport,,, and although Clermont is pretty & new --it is kinda DEAD- too far out for me.

Look in Dr. Phillips or Winter Garden or Windermere.

PS--Clermont's nightlife is slowing coming around. I'm not saying it's hopping, but we no longer roll up the sidewalks at 7:00 pm.

Really? movies and pizza at Flippers--too many either old retirees or younger familes- middle age- but not dead is my scene... Even in Clermont the neighbors were 90 % retirees,,, my 9 yr old grand has no friends anywhere close by to go play with? its a planned trip to join someone from school- and I am used to S-FL-no age barriers. not found that either in Tampa- well let's get this promotion first!
