Try Olympus homeowner's insurance on a block home in Longwood. I have $175K, 300/100K coverage for about $450 a year.

I highly recommend Homewise Insurance company. The best rates for homes between 10 and 30 years old. If you have a 4-sided Hip Roof then I would recommend Sunshine State Insurance Company.
Sunshine State: Sunshine State Insurance Company
Homewise: HomeWise Insurance Group

Both A rated companies

If you have a newer home and are military or child of military I would say look at USAA... they are quite low but they don't write if the home was built before 2005 or so.
Nationwide is a bit high mine is 1450 for 385k replacement cost, and something like135k contents. Sounds like Olympus is very low.

Yeah, I just found this company. Before I was paying like $850 for less coverage. I decided to shop around and found them to be the lowest. I did the same with my car insurance. I had MetLife at $3500/yr with a teen driver, just liability. Now, I have Allstate for $1900/yr with a teen.

I think there are insurance calculators on the internet that you can input all of the info and get back rate quotes.....Unfortunately, simply having a claim is going to affect your rate and depending on for what and how much--it can affect it drastically. State Farm is not even going to write homeowners policies in Florida anymore and I believe that within the next 2 years they will be dropping everyone they currenetly cover in the state.

Last year I had ASI. When renewal time came around they sent a bill for $1388. A 200+ increase from last year - I have never had a claim with them.

I have a 3200 square foot 2 story with pool (no screen) built in 2004. I found a policy through a local All State rep with Security First for $680 - same coverage. It was a no brainer.
