Hey everyone. I will be visiting Orlando soon so I'm trying to put together a list of things to do. I don't want to do the typical tourist thing. I'm looking for neighborhood bars, local dive bars, local brew pubs, and bars with live music.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with Minneapolis - St. Paul, but I'm looking for something along the lines of the CC Club, the Turf Club, Triple Rock, Nye's, or the Uptown.

Thanks in advance.

Downtown Orlando, get on Orange Ave. Find the point on Orange between Central and Pine. Walk 2-3 blocks in any direction from that point, and there are more neighborhood bars, gin mills, cantinas, bars with karoake, bars with pool tables, bars that serve food, food places that serve booze, live entertainment of just about every genre, fancy bars, total dive bars, dance clubs, wine bars, you name it.

Also Will's Pub and the Haven are worth checking out--both run live music.

Orlando Brewing is just south of downtown, Lagniappe Brewing Company is in Minneola, a bit of a drive but worth it. Just up the steret from there is great BBQ at Jack's.

PS--ANy news on when the Uptown might be reopening? I had a blast there a few years ago with my girlfriends.

Downtown Orlando is full of bars, lounges, clubs, nice dining, etc all over downtown not just orange ave, but orange ave is the main corridor. The blue martini in the mall at mellinia is also good, and city walk. Out east of Orlando near UCF there are also a lot of cool sports bars, clubs, and lounges that cater to the college aged crowed. i would also check out winter park for more upscale bars/dining.

We have Cirque du Soleil at Downtown Disney, and yes Downtown Orlando is great for the bars and club scene and now has a new adult only cinema, which sells alcohol. Enzian theatre is located in Winter Park, it is a dinner/movie type deal, they mostly show independent films there. There is Howl of the Moon and BB Kings on I drive. Oh, also check out City Walk where there is restaurants, bars, movie theatre etc..
