Senior Snowbird wants to buy/rent condo where I can walk (within quarter mile) to a grassy park with flowers, trees, benches to sit on, etc. Hiking trail a plus. Safety a must. Any ideas appreciated.

If you can afford it, Winter Park. Also many planned communities have parks in walking distance, like Baldwin Park, Avalon Park, Celebration, and other large planned subdivisions.

Sorry GLS but can't say I agree considering I don't know of any place to hike in all of Winter Park. Or any of the planned communities either. They have parks but not really hiking.

Leu Gardens is in Orlando but costs money. I'm not too sure of any parks that have 'flowers' around here except Leu Gardens really. For hiking you're best bet and really quite nice is the entire West Side. Clermont, Winter Garden, Apopka, Mt. Dora. Best bet for hiking in this area would be Lake Louisa, Lake Apopka, or Wekiva Springs/Rock Springs. On the other hand you could also go out towards Geneva towards Lake Jesup and Little Big Econ.

I don't however know of any condos in the Oviedo/Geneva area close to Little Big Econ but then I haven't been out that way in quite some time. I know there are condos on the West side though.

Ah, so she did. Well in that case any of them are good. If Editing wasn't so bad on this site I'd remove the first line of my post. Sadly editing is bad on this site so I can't.

I'm re-posting...Sorry, I thought I was posting on the Orlando blog. I meant condos in or near Orlando that are in walking distance of a park.

Any of the downtown condos are walking distance to Lake Eola, which I would consider a park. The Vue, Metropolitan, Aspire, 57 West, the list goes on.
