Your home is absolutely breathtaking. I'd gladly take a Victorian with a huge turret anyday over your home, but your neighborhood looks exactly like the type I'm in search of myself---flat, narrow lots with sidewalks and what appears to be a tree-lined street, all of which complement that inviting front porch of yours quite nicely. Here in suburbia, we no longer have a need for porches; we're too busy commuting 15 minutes to the grocery store for a gallon of milk everyday to have time to sit on a front porch with a pitcher of freshly-squeezed lemonade and wave to our neighbors as they go for their evening jogs.
If you love old homes, then you'd love Pennsylvania. Here are a few favorites that I have photographed from the Scranton/Pocono Area, and I'm hoping one will be on the market when I have enough money saved to purchase one for my family.
DROOOOOLLLL!!! Why doesn't anyone else like homes like these?
I love the homes in PA, especially in Pittsburgh. I love to look at some of the older homes for sale online. My husband is from Pittsburgh and would love nothing more than to move back someday. If I can have one of those older homes, I could definitely get on board with that!!

Thanks for sharing your photos - those houses were beautiful! I think you would like Western Springs. My town is in the heart of suburbia (15 miles from Chicago), but it doesn't LOOK like it. Here are some of my favorite houses...

Your town looks like suburbia done right with trees, sidewalks, curbs, and front porches! Go Illinois! Here in PA, our suburbia looks like vomit with no trees, no sidewalks, no curbs, no porches, and no sense of community! Yuck!

Reason: Typo
It's not exactly a mansion, but it's still my humble "Castle", in Phoenix, Arizona, built in 1998 and been in it ever since.
The front, with the address blocked out. If you're wondering what that red stuff in the yard is, it's not red grass, it's desert-style landscaping, which doesn't include grass, we use decorative rocks/gravel because it conserves water. Besides, nobody wants to mow the lawn when it's 110 degrees outside in July! This is a typical landscape in the desert areas of Arizona.
That is a nice house MagnumMike. If I can get a photo of our little shoebox here in Peoria I will try to post it. I love the back east homes, you guys are very lucky...if you could only get rid of the snow!
A friend of my has an area rug exactly like the one in your dining room all the way over here in Texas.
