Hi everyone!
Happy Friday!
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DAILY PET PEEVE THREAD WILL BE DISCONTINUED AS OF SUNDAY, JANUARY 9, 2011. AT THAT TIME, ANY PEEVE YOU HAVE, PLEASE TAKE TO OUR ONGOING "PET PEEVE & OTHER GRUMBLINGS/WHAT "PEEVE" DO YOU HAVE TODAY?" THREAD. THANK YOU.
How about fumbling with those GPS units instead of paying attention to driving. Seems like there are more and more of those “stuck” to the windshield these days while the drivers are trying to recalibrate the destination location into them. Simply STUPID!
I got stuck behind an idiot driver today on a 3 lane rd, at rush hour, where this joker was in the middle lane texting and driving all over the road at 5 mph. Both lanes of vehicles besides me were going at least 50 mph and traffic behind me was backed up a 1/4 mile. Finally a clearing and I got around him, blew my horn, told him to get off the road, and he looked at me like he was oblivious to the world around him and continued texting and weaving all over the road. Idiot drivers.
It's been proven over and over that you can only concentrate on one function at a time, so texters turn it off and concentrate on your driving.
I definitely agree! I always take the phone away from my friends when they're driving. Either give the phone to me or ignore the phone. It works everytime, haha!
It's certainly a good peeve. I agree with satx -- "anything and driving" is bad. People are so darned thoughtless and inconsiderate. I spent 25 years investigating accidents, and maybe if everyone could see the crash scene and morgue photographs that I've seen they might think twice about telephoning or texting while driving.
