In honor of Texas Independence day, I'd like to share a few interesting facts about my great state!

Did you know.......

There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 live in Texas.

There are 10,000 types of spiders and all 10,000 live in Texas, plus a couple no one's seen before.

Coldbeer is one word.

Fixinto is one word.

Tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're 2.

Backards and forwards means I know everything about you.

'Jeet? is actually a phrase meaning "Did you eat?"

And "Jeetjet" means "Did you eat yet?"

All soft drinks in Texas are called "cokes."
"Want a coke?"
"Yes, a Dr. Pepper."

The State Song of Texas is not "The Eyes of Texas."
It's "Texas, Our Texas."

Texas is the only state that can fly its flag on a level equal to the American flag because Texas was once an independent republic. But, we rarely do that. We think it's tacky.

Y'all come on down for a visit and remember the Alamo.

I just don't see why everyone gets excited over that tiny speck of land called Texas. Maybe it is time to split Alaska into 2 states, making Texas the 3rd largest state.
