Yesterday we got a letter from HMRC, our equivilant of the IRS, concerning my late FIL. The covering letter had the correct first name of my wife but the official form that we have to fill in had a variant of that name.
Yet another thing to sort out. Hardly anyone has actually done things right yet.
Very annoying to be sure. My first and last name are both difficult to spell, so it's just a part of my life. I'm used to it. What really annoys me is when the corrections, require correction. Good Peeve, Jezer. Thank you.
I don't mind getting the junk mail or unsolicited phone calls misspelling or mispronouncing my name now. My first name is unusual and the last is back to my maiden & forever name, which identifies my fathers nationality. I know when "they" mail or call asking for Mr. "me" it goes in the shredder or gets hung up on.
I used to hate getting the same unsolicited stuff when I was married. It was the simplest of last names and the still misspelled or mispronounced.
I hope your situation gets straightened out soon and easily, Jezer.
My last name is a variation of a more common name, people usually spell it wrong,
can't blame them. It's a shortened version of a longer name, I think.
