... and a very Happy New Year to you too, Karla!

Today's Question(s):

As the song goes "What are you doing New Year's Eve ?
This year, nothing.

Looking back what were some of your more "interesting" NYE experiences ?
When I lived in Sydney, my apartment was right on the harbour, so the famous Sydney fireworks were let off from barges on the water not 50 yards away. Pretty spectacular! As a result, NYE parties were usually at my place!

Which ones could you say "not so much" when remembering them ?
Not so keen on going to parties where you only know the hosts (who are always busy circulating) and being kissed at midnight by all these people you don't know and will probably never see again.
Do /did you have any NYE traditions ?
Not really.

Bonus Question:

Have you written the year 2012 as of yet ?
I've typed it, but not written it.

Extra Credit Question:

lol What was the last thing you said or did that made folks a little "nervous" ?
You'd have to ask my friends that question!

Just for Fun:

I know some of you are missing the fill in the blanks questions so.......

You know you have
a flat battery when you discover you left your car headlights on overnight.

Happy penultimate day of the year!

Today's Question(s):

As the song goes "What are you doing New Year's Eve ? Stay home, stay safe.

Looking back what were some of your more "interesting" NYE experiences ? None that I can remember. Not into drinking parties.

Which ones could you say "not so much" when remembering them ? Probably all of them.

Do /did you have any NYE traditions ?" Yes, stay off the highway and out of the way of drunk drivers.

Bonus Question:

Have you written the year 2012 as of yet ? No, still taking 2011 deductions.

Extra Credit Question:

lol What was the last thing you said or did that made folks a little "nervous" ? It was probably a lot nervous.

Just for Fun:

I know some of you are missing the fill in the blanks questions so.......

lol I am not moving from this page until I answer

Today's Question(s):

As the song goes "What are you doing New Year's Eve ?
My FIL is coming for the weekend we will be exchanging our Christmas gifts and ringing in the New Year
I will be cooking a nice dinner NYE

Looking back what were some of your more "interesting" NYE experiences ?

lol NYE's in NJ in the 80's !!!!!!!

Which ones could you say "not so much" when remembering them ?

My Father passed away suddenly after Christmas almost 30 years ago. My little brother and I flew out to Colorado where he lived. The day before NYE (yeah just realized it was this day) they had just had a blizzard so everything was pretty much shut down the airport had just opened so we
were stuck in his apt trying to get everything taken care of by phone
add drama relatives who weren't happy that we came out and yeah that probably was the worst NYE ever.

Do /did you have any NYE traditions ?"

Once I moved away from home no matter where I was or what I was doing I would call my Mom right after midnight. lol this was before cell phones so there were a few "collect" calls and lots of happy NYE revelers in the background

Bonus Question:

Have you written the year 2012 as of yet ?

I have on a couple of business checks that I mailed for invoices due on the 1st

Extra Credit Question:

lol What was the last thing you said or did that made folks a little "nervous" ?

Well the above "I am cooking" for NYE could be one lol

But I think the biggest was

"My MIL got me a Chainsaw for Christmas"

Who would of thought such a simple phrase would evoke such interesting comments !!!!!

"oh dear God what was she thinking seemed to be the most popular"

Just for Fun:

I know some of you are missing the fill in the blanks questions so.......

You know you have talked too much when you run the batteries down on 1 cell & 3 cordless phones

lol that was my yesterday
?

Good morning QOTD gang!

Today's Question(s):

As the song goes "What are you doing New Year's Eve ?
Nothing! Been walking around with this darned cold, fever all week and I am just going to rest and do nothing this weekend!

Looking back what were some of your more "interesting" NYE experiences ?
I used to go to the same house party at my buddy's place from the time I was 15 until my early 30's. We had some wild ones, some docile ones, and the whole gang still looks back fondly on those times!

Which ones could you say "not so much" when remembering them ?
The ones that gave me the "I hate life on January 1" hangovers were the ones that started really well but provided to be "not so good".

Do /did you have any NYE traditions ?"
Visiting my friends parents house on New Years Day for the traditional pork roast dinner and commraderie.

Bonus Question:

Have you written the year 2012 as of yet ?
Yes on some delivery dates for work.

Extra Credit Question:

lol What was the last thing you said or did that made folks a little "nervous" ?
Like when I told my boss that I may start looking for a new role at work. There was no ill will, but I don't think she wants the team to break up at all.

Just for Fun:

I know some of you are missing the fill in the blanks questions so.......

Today's Question(s):

As the song goes "What are you doing New Year's Eve ?

Staying home this year. I've been to lots of great parties in the past, but this year will be a quiet one.

Do /did you have any NYE traditions ?"

We get together with friends and play mini golf on New Year's Day. Even though it snows here we've been able to do it every year except one (and that year we created a golf course in someone's living room--you should have seen what we used for a sand trap ).

Bonus Question:

Have you written the year 2012 as of yet ?

No, I actually have a few high hopes for the upcoming year. Just a few, tempered by realistic expectations--but hopes never the less.

Extra Credit Question:

lol What was the last thing you said or did that made folks a little "nervous" ?

Oh look how cute that puppy is.....
