Good morning too all!

Today's Question:
How has your season been?
Same as usual?
Mild? It's been above average warmth, but I'm not complaining!
Winter, what winter?

Bonus Question:
If you could have six more weeks of anything, not just weather, what would it be? Paid vacation!
The sky's the limit!

Inquiring Minds Question:
Have you ever hunted or caught your own food? Just fish.
Have you ever eaten game or wild fish? I've had some game, but I don't care for it. (Rabbit, deer, etc.)
If so what?

Just for fun:
TV has so many celebrity chefs these days.
Who are your favorites and why? I don't pay attention to most of them.
Any you don't like?
I don't like Bourdain. He's a headcase.

Here are some names, new and old, to get us thinking:
Mario Batali
Julia Child
Paula Deen
Guy Fieri A little over the top in my opinion
Bobby Flay
Jamie Oliver
Jaques Pepin
Gordon Ramsey Just for the drama!
Rachael Ray Meh...
Others?

Today Is:
Ground Hog Day
Candlemas It's off to Google now...
World Wetlands Day
Heavenly Hash Day Used to be one of my fave's!

Have a great day everyone!

Here it is Groundhog Day. We're supposed to learn whether or not there will be six more weeks of winter. But some of us don't seem to have gotten much winter weather yet. Punxsutawney Phil, the Groundhog that is, is likely to be confused. Maybe he can get his bearings by reading along with us on today's questions! Good Morning and thank you for the QOTD, bjh!!Today's Question:

Today's Question:

How has your season been?
Same as usual?
Mild?
Winter, what winter? And I'm not happy about it either

Bonus Question:
If you could have six more weeks of anything, not just weather, what would it be? Vacation

Inquiring Minds Question:
Have you ever hunted or caught your own food? I've fished if that counts
Have you ever eaten game or wild fish? I have!
If so what? I come from an area of hunters so I have eaten bear, deer, duck, turtle, moose, squirel, rabbit and who know how many more.

Today's Question:
How has your season been?
Same as usual?
Mild: It really has been mild.....but for the first time.....I am finding New England winters too much for me....maybe its my age; maybe its because I have a chronic illness....who knows...but I just can't take it. Especially knowing I have a choice.
Winter, what winter?

Bonus Question:
If you could have six more weeks of anything, not just weather, what would it be?
The sky's the limit!

I am trying to live out the buddha's teaching of being present in the moment...this moment....so I won't even let myself start imagining answers to this question....it takes the mind off the present.

Inquiring Minds Question:
Have you ever hunted or caught your own food?
Have you ever eaten game or wild fish?
If so what?

When I was a boy my brother and I used to catch perch everyday in the summer....or just about everyday...and my Mom would bread them in corn meal and fry them up for our breakfast....as I grew I used to catch bass...but none were as sweet as those yellow perch.

As a young man I lived near the ocean and we used to gather mussels and get quohogs* for chowder! Sometimes I would fish off the breakwater for flounder. One summer we were into catching blue crabs....but they are a lot of work!!!!

*(Thats "quohogs"...nothing to do with "ground hog day").

Just for fun:
TV has so many celebrity chefs these days.
Who are your favorites and why? I really like "The Barefoot Contessa" Ina Garten.

Any you don't like? several....."but if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all"

Here are some names, new and old, to get us thinking:
Mario Batali
Julia Child
Paula Deen
Guy Fieri
Bobby Flay
Jamie Oliver
Jaques Pepin
Gordon Ramsey
Rachael Ray
Others? Ina Garten

Today's Question:
How has your season been?

Weird, but in a good way. Snow in October, cherry trees blooming in January. Loving the spring-like weather today. If this is winter, the groundhog can send us six more weeks of this.

Bonus Question:
If you could have six more weeks of anything, not just weather, what would it be?

Oh now you know I'd love six weeks on a tropical islanmd with Pierce Brosnan and endless chocolate! And a masseuse, so Pierce's fingers can get a rest. Oh, and some movies (just in case we get bored).

Inquiring Minds Question:

One time I went fishing with friends and after an hour we went home and split the one teensy fish we caught.

Just for fun:

Unless the chef is touring a house on House Hunters, I wouldn't know any of them. Except for Julia Child, who I like for her "second job" (she was an international spy). The exhibit on her down at the DC Spy Museum is hilarious.
