Good morning peevers.

It continues to be warm and sunny and summer clothing is finally being worn on a regular basis!

I'm really annoyed with myself.

Coming home in my car yesterday I managed to get the wheel to hit the kerb (the side of the sidewalk) and scrape the alloy wheel. Roads can be pretty narrow in places round here and my car is fairly wide, but I am annoyed and it's the first time I've done it to this car.

The funny thing is later that day I remembered that I had taken out a specific insurance policy against this incident! I'm in the process of following that up.

Today's timely POTD is;

Kerbing the car wheel.

If that doesn't translate I'm talking about damaging the car alloys. Sorry if you don't have a car as far as today's peeve goes.

Trawling through the archives I've come across these from May 2010, showing Molly and her cousin on a walk with the other dog's owner. Mrs J is the photographer;

Woodpecker damage;

The same thing happened when I was teaching my child to drive last year. Now, that wheel scrape is a reminder of those days and I look upon that simple blemish with a loving memory of those hilarious days that revealed my faults as a driving instructor. My child did learn to drive (in spite of my instruction) - and that wheel scrape is still there as is the memory of exactly when and how it happened. I could have that wheel scrape fixed but I would rather see it and have it bring back a fond memory.

ahhh yes, the curb damage trick. I have never done this but someone who lives in my house has ... and that same person drives too close to the center curb on divided highways/roads and comes close to hitting the curb all the time. hmmmppff

What wonderful scenes in those pictures.

This peeve hits home because my depth perception isn't that good, and I have lots of scrapes on the passenger side of the car to prove it.

Mrs. J. is a talented photographer. Those woodsy views are so appealing. Is that you, Jez, on the left in the last shot?

I've actually ripped 2 tires in the last year, one was a pot hole coming out of a driveway and the other was getting off the pavement except there are no curbs, just drop off, narrow roads, both times cut the inside of my rear tire. Yikes...Never had that problem with my truck

Not a problem now because I still haven't bought another vehicle today's peeve is just one more reason why I'm not rushing out to get one either.
