Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Even if you are not in the U.S., every day can be Thanksgiving day, so I hope you all will have a beautiful, thanks-filled day. Scroll on down for Today's Tip!

LIGHT IN A PINCH

If your electric power goes out and you don't have any candles handy, light some crayons! Yep, a regular sized Crayola crayon will burn for 15 to 30 minutes. Crayons contain flammable paraffin and they burn slowly. Do be very careful, though, to place them in a heat-safe container before you light them and keep children and pets away from them.

I have some old boxes of crayons in a closet and will keep this Tip handy for the next blackout.

Wow, who would have thought of this one? Now I know what to do with the pack of crayons I bought when a friend and her three-year-old daughter visited. The little girl is now married and the mother of three, but I still have the crayons!

Thanks, Pam.

My God! They haven't been outlawed? I know when they melt they make a colorful mess. Thanks for the tip Pam. Don't know if I knew they'd burn...

Interesting tip. Do they smell when they burn, my nose is sensitive to waxy smells, such as candles.
If the power goes out here I have at least 10 LED flashlights placed through out the house. All with fresh batteries.
