Are you a secret scribbler, a closet cook or a "private" dancer? Maybe you have a knack for interior decorating or you can play the trumpet. Perhaps you're the guy to beat in ping pong at the annual company picnic. They say everyone has a hidden talent, is it true? Ok, so maybe you're not the BEST at what you dabble in, (otherwise you'd find a way to do it for a living, right?) but you're not bad, maybe even pretty good.

Me? I sing. Oh, I'm sure I'd never make it as a big time recording artist or anything like that, (there are plenty of people in the world who sing better than I do) but I do get a lot of compliments when I go out karaoke-ing, so I guess there are worse singers out there. (Yeah, yeah...so what if most of those compliments are from drunk people, it's still something! )

So what about you?

I write a little poetry. Most of it is pretty lame, but a couple have been published. I ran into an old friend from junior high school a few weeks ago, and the first thing she did was recite one of my poems to me. I got a kick out of hearing her do it.

I have a really good memory. I can memorize information for tests easily. If you don't have a pen and need to write down a number, I can memorize it for you. I still have random people's numbers in my head... from as far back as 1st grade. And birthdays! All year, as certain birthdays pop up, I am reminded of people from my past- coworkers, old neighbors from my childhood... Its like my mind just doesn't get rid of anything, it drives me crazy! Song lyrics, last names, ahhhhhhhh! My head is so full of useless information, yet I can't do addition without using my fingers! I'm hopeless.

My grandson has just discovered poetry. There's a very, very, very distant relative that had a book of poems published and he wanted me to send him some of her poems. I did send him some and I sent him some that others in the family have written. You must share at least one of yours, Evey. That's wonderful that you've had some published.

I missed that post! Yeah I'd like to hear some of your poetry, too! I love a good poem. I subscribe to a poetry magazine and love it when it comes in the mail. I sent out a poem once and it got rejected! of course! You should be proud tht you are published! Not an easy thing to do.

Windy storm and angry sea
taking my love so far from me,
in the tempest out there, tossed
my heart's true love is out there-lost.
I wonder if you think of me
out there on the stormy sea?
While here I stand and call your name
the ocean thunders, still the same.
