Good morning peevers.

I'm off out fairly soon on what should be a fairly nice day.

I hope that things are improving for you folks hit by snow.

Remember my telling you about the delivery men who knocked the paintwork about moving a new bed upstairs?

I told you that they were a reputable company and I have the go ahead to get the work done by our decorator.

I was pretty annoyed because I and a friend managed to move a bigger bed across without damage, and also the area was only redecorated in 2012 after that water damage (remember that!).

Now I'm trying to remember what the paint colours were called! I might have some pots of paint out in the garage, but looking through the colour chart last night did not jog my memory.

So my dear peevers, I think you can see where the POTD is heading, and you'd be right!

The POTD is;

Matching up paint colours.

whole lot of flooding over there. Do most places have basements, Jezer?

I agree with the matching paint thing. But next time I'm going to write it down and save a swatch so it can be matched.

Jezer next time you paint, dip a paint stick in the can, let it dry and store it someplace you can find it. Then if you later need to match the paint color you can take the painted stick to the paint store and they can easily match it with their paint matching spectrascope machine.

Neat pictures, that 1st one with the bird is outstanding

Beautiful photos again Jezer, especially like the first one!

Ah, since painting is one of my very least favorite things to do, I'll leave this to the experts, but I agree with you, it is really hard to get the shades to match. Good luck!

Wit-nit's advice is excellent. I love all the photos, Jezer, but especially the one of the pigeon. Looking at the rest of the images, I'm guessing that you are still having some flooding over there in the UK. I hope that things are getting better in those places that have been hardest hit.

I agree about putting a stir stick in and labeling it with the paint code. That has saved the day for me many times. Sometimes I save the paint lid too with the store affixed paint mixing label on it. In fact we're getting ready to paint 4 rooms right now. I bought the paint a few months ago and already need more so that label will come in handy for us!

I love birds and old architecture, so your photos thrill me. That flood doesn't thrill me...my front yard is beginning to look like that after the mid-60 temperatures yesterday. But at least the snow is almost gone, but new snow expected in the next few days. Woe is me.

Good morning. Love the pictures as always.

Dipping the stick then marking it sounds like a great idea.

Actually, I just went out and repainted everything. Yeah I do things the hard way.

Rain today.

I always write down the formula off the paint can. I've a notebook in my desk full of all sorts of things like that.
