There are two kinds of kids, the ones who are demons in school and angels at home, so that when the teacher talks to a parent at parent-teacher night, the parent raises one eyebrow and says, "MY kid?"

And then there are the kids who are angels in school and demons at home, so that when the teacher talks to a parent at parent-teacher night, the parent raises both eyebrows and says, "MY kid?"

I was the latter.

I was an ornery, obstinate little turd, and frustrated my mother, and many teachers, a lot. I was also ADHD. I was so small in size but didn't take crap from anybody.

I was the latter in the lower grades of school, and switched to the former in my later school years. I discovered it was more fun to get in trouble in school than at home, and the punishment wasn't as bad.
