Good morning everyone and welcome to Questions of the Day for Tuesday, June 17th 2014. Too much on my plate today, so let’s get straight down to the questions…

Today’s question:

Do you have a vacation planned for this summer?

If yes, please share a little about your plans.

Extra credit question:

How many –

Loads of laundry do you wash in an average week?

Eggs do you eat in an average week?

Websites (not counting those you might use for work) do you visit on a daily basis?

Movie theatres are there in your area (within about a 30-minute drive)?

Bonus question:

My doctor wants me to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day (to help prevent more kidney stones). I would normally only drink 4-6 glasses. How much water do you usually drink per day?

Just for fun:

It’s Eat Your Vegetables Day! Which vegetables do you expect to eat today?

Thought for the day:

The most important thing in life is not knowing everything, it’s having the phone number of somebody who does! (Anonymous)

Today is:

Husband Caretaker Day
National Apple Strudel Day
National Cherry Tart Day
National Eat Your Vegetables Day
Stewart’s Root Beer Day
World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought

do you have a vacation planned for this summer? Yes

if yes, please share a little about your plans. Traveling around the mid-west visiting relatives etc.

how many –

loads of laundry do you wash in an average week? 4-5

eggs do you eat in an average week? 1/2 dozen

websites (not counting those you might use for work) do you visit on a daily basis? 3-4

movie theatres are there in your area (within about a 30-minute drive)? Don't go to them, probably a dozen.

my doctor wants me to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day (to help prevent more kidney stones). I would normally only drink 4-6 glasses. how much water do you usually drink per day? 4-5

Today’s question:

Do you have a vacation planned for this summer?
Not looking like it

If yes, please share a little about your plans.
The vacation I am not taking will probably be a cruise on the SS STINKY CHEESE.

Extra credit question:

How many –

Loads of laundry do you wash in an average week?
One or two. My whites and darks have gotten use to being washed together.

Eggs do you eat in an average week?
Zero, nada, zip, nilch, none, not going to happen. Eggs are disgusting, yucky, and taste down right awful.

Websites (not counting those you might use for work) do you visit on a daily basis?
Only a few

Movie theatres are there in your area (within about a 30-minute drive)?
There is a multiplex 4 blocks away. There is also an old theater about 3 blocks away. I am sure there are others.

Bonus question:

My doctor wants me to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day (to help prevent more kidney stones). I would normally only drink 4-6 glasses. How much water do you usually drink per day?
The doctor has me on a restricted fluids diet. Including fluids in food I am limited to less than 2 liters. It is tough as I like ice water.

Just for fun:

It’s Eat Your Vegetables Day! Which vegetables do you expect to eat today?
Do the barley and hops in my beer count?

Good morning everyone and welcome to Questions of the Day for Tuesday, June 17th 2014.
Too much on my plate today, so let’s get straight down to the questions…

Today’s question:
Do you have a vacation planned for this summer? No
If yes, please share a little about your plans.

Extra credit question:
How many –
Loads of laundry do you wash in an average week? Two
Eggs do you eat in an average week? Zero
Websites (not counting those you might use for work) do you visit on a daily basis?
C-D, weather, email, other social sites, music & tv shows...maybe the same 10 or a dozen most days.
Movie theatres are there in your area (within about a 30-minute drive)?
Not sure, but there's one right downtown.

Bonus question:
My doctor wants me to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day (to help prevent more kidney stones). I would normally only drink 4-6 glasses. How much water do you usually drink per day?
Don't know, as I sip from a bottle that I refill & refrigerate. Maybe 4, maybe less ? Not incl. other beverages (like tea & such).
Consuming that amount of liquid seems impractical for people who can't spend all day in the bathroom.

Just for fun:
It’s Eat Your Vegetables Day! Which vegetables do you expect to eat today?
None, am not a vegetable-friendly sort.

Thought for the day:
The most important thing in life is not knowing everything, it’s having the phone number of somebody who does! (Anonymous)

Thanks for the Qs, Kobber.
Wishing you all a healthy Tuesday.

Today’s question:
Do you have a vacation planned for this summer? Not right now.

Extra credit question:
How many –

Loads of laundry do you wash in an average week? Several

Eggs do you eat in an average week? About 3-4 not counting what's cooked in other foods.

Websites (not counting those you might use for work) do you visit on a daily basis? Less than a dozen every day.

Movie theatres are there in your area (within about a 30-minute drive)? Within a half hour, many. Don't really go to theaters much.

Bonus question:
My doctor wants me to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day (to help prevent more kidney stones). I would normally only drink 4-6 glasses.
How much water do you usually drink per day?
a lot

Just for fun:
It’s Eat Your Vegetables Day! Which vegetables do you expect to eat today? Some possibilities are broccoli, peas, corn, green beans.

Today is:
National Apple Strudel Day

National Cherry Tart Day

Tough to decide.

Thanks, Kobber.

Happy Tuesday!

Today’s question:

Do you have a vacation planned for this summer?
No, we wait until after the summer tourist crowd has gone back home!

Besides, retirement IS a vacation all of the time!

If yes, please share a little about your plans.

Extra credit question:

How many –

Loads of laundry do you wash in an average week? 2-4

Eggs do you eat in an average week? varies

Websites (not counting those you might use for work) do you visit on a daily basis? varies

Movie theatres are there in your area (within about a 30-minute drive)?

Bonus question:

A lot, but not 8-10 glasses worth of just water I'm sure... do drink lots of it, though, along with plenty of coffee and iced tea.

Just for fun:

It’s Eat Your Vegetables Day! Which vegetables do you expect to eat today?
As little as I can get by with! Usual veggies are whatever I make a salad out of... and maybe a side of one, really not good about eating them on a regular basis unless they're fresh... still waiting on some home-grown tomatoes to make a tomato sandwich with.

Do you have a vacation planned for this summer?

~ Nope. I never seem to get a vacation.

How many –

Loads of laundry do you wash in an average week? 2 or 3

Eggs do you eat in an average week? 5?

Websites (not counting those you might use for work) do you visit on a daily basis? 22?

Movie theatres are there in your area (within about a 30-minute drive)?

I have no idea. I never drive more than 2 miles from my home. Don't need to, don't want to.

How much water do you usually drink per day?

None. I get my water in the other beverages that I drink - which counts as your daily water requirements - says the medical sources. Even my beer counts as my water requirements, so don't you be misled.

It’s Eat Your Vegetables Day! Which vegetables do you expect to eat today?

Mashed potatoes...and a little onion.

~ That's about the stupidest statement ever. .....

* Thanks, Kobberloony! * Smiles to you all! *

Good morning everyone and welcome to Questions of the Day for Tuesday, June 17th 2014. Too much on my plate today, so let’s get straight down to the questions…

Today’s question:

Do you have a vacation planned for this summer?
Yes, my yearly trip overseas, plus few local trips over a long weekend.

If yes, please share a little about your plans.
Just visiting my hometown, and surrounding countries.
I also like Thu-Mon trips here in country. So many things to see!

Extra credit question:

How many –

Loads of laundry do you wash in an average week?
Every week? Zero. I wash twice a month. Have enough changes to go without washing even longer.
Who likes laundry days and the ironing following it?

Eggs do you eat in an average week?
Not many, maybe 2-3. Some weeks more, and some - none.

Websites (not counting those you might use for work) do you visit on a daily basis?
Dozen at least, probably more.

Movie theatres are there in your area (within about a 30-minute drive)?
Google says 23 theaters found within 30 miles of San Antonio. I would not know. I stopped going there years ago.
That's a lot!! and few are brand new. Why we need so many and who goes there??

Bonus question:

My doctor wants me to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day (to help prevent more kidney stones). I would normally only drink 4-6 glasses. How much water do you usually drink per day?
Maybe 50 oz of fluids (including tea, juice and milk). It depends what I ate. When I eat grilled, pan-fried food, I drink a bit more.
Water alone? Maybe a can, or two, but some days - none.

Just for fun:

It’s Eat Your Vegetables Day! Which vegetables do you expect to eat today?
I got fresh spinach. I will probably cook something with it. Other than that, my usual stuff like tomatoes, onions, avocado, scallions, Boston lettuce.

Today’s question:

Do you have a vacation planned for this summer?

No, I don't. I'm retired though, so there is no such thing as "vacation."

Extra credit question:

How many –

Loads of laundry do you wash in an average week?
3
Eggs do you eat in an average week?
4
Websites (not counting those you might use for work) do you visit on a daily basis?
I'd say that I visit at least 10 websites on a daily basis.

Movie theatres are there in your area (within about a 30-minute drive)?
Good grief. I couldn't begin to count. Hundreds!

Bonus question:

My doctor wants me to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day (to help prevent more kidney stones). I would normally only drink 4-6 glasses. How much water do you usually drink per day?
Counting juice, coffee, tea, wine and soft drinks, I'd say about 4 to 6. Kobber, your doctor's ideas are out of date if he thinks you need to drink that much water. That was recently debunked. Also, did you know that the water in food also counts toward your daily allowance? That means you are actually ingesting significantly more fluids than whatever you are drinking from a glass or cup. The new rule of thumb is that if you drink enough to keep from being thirsty, you are adequately hydrated.

Just for fun:

It’s Eat Your Vegetables Day! Which vegetables do you expect to eat today?
Today I will be having V-8 juice for breakfast and for dinner, mixed vegetables (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini). I will probably also be having a tossed green salad with dinner.

Thanks, Kobber!
