What have you ordered in a pizzeria other than pizza? Calzones, ravioli, spagoni (spaghetti in a garlic bread bowl)... I really like pizza. It's in my Top 5, so it's hard for me to go into a pizza joint and not get the pizza!
An Italian dish that you like a lot: Fettuccini Alfredo (Is that really Italian, or just commonly served at Italian restaurants so they make us think it's Italian? It's in my Top 5 too! )

What have you ordered in a pizzeria other than pizza? Well, pizza is my favorite food, so most of the time I do get pizza. Sometimes, though 1/4 of the time, I'll get a calzone. Which, well is quite similar.

in practice it's a pizza base with just some olive oil and rosemary. When it's cooked it's topped with lard in really thin slices. The base it's still really hot, and so melt the lard. Italian lard it's delicious, because has a lot of flavorings.
That photo makes me really hungry right now...

Italian food from Italy, practically everything. Italian food from the US, i can't tell because I've never tried it.
So that today it's cold here, i want to show you a dessert that makes me think about the winter:

it's made with particular pear varieties, smallest and harder that normal pears. Those pears are cooked in red wine with sugar and spices like cinnamon. The cooking it's really long, because the wine must become like a sweet aromatic syrup. Just fabulous.
