People! Can somebody to experiment with vending machine?
The idea: you lower into the smallest coin, which he takes, and then press the button "Coin return".
If engineers have designed vending machine, it will give the money back the largest coins, which vending machine accepting.

When I have a lot of small coins in a way I had them change on the larger - it works in Russia.
This "exchange" I came up with a year ago, buying a coffee in one of the vending machine.
I am very curious - if it works with the vending machine in United States?
I would be very grateful if someone tries and write the result...

You want someone to steal money from a vending machine owner?
Why would you even think it is okay to do this let alone suggest someone else do it just for your curiosity?

Not steal!!!
First you lower your coins into the machine, then press the button "Coin return" and get them back.
My guess, the machine has to give you back your coins larger denomination.

I think what they are getting at is if you put $1 in dimes in a vending machine and then hit "coin return", the machine will give you back 4 quarters instead of the dimes.

I don't even know what the point of this thread is, to be honest lol

You lower the 10 coins for 10 cents, you press the button "Coin return" and if the machine designed by engineers, machine you return 4 coins to 25 cents (for example).

The point is: with 10 coins to 10 cents - you change them for 4 coins of 25 cents.
4 quarters weigh less than 10 dimes
It should work only for coins, not bills!!!

$ 1 bill weighs less than 4 quarters - why such an exchange?
The idea is to exchange a handful of small coins to larger - larger than occupy space and weigh less
It's just a "lifehack"

Okay, I guess I did not understand what you were trying to say in your original post.

My apologies for saying that you were encouraging someone to steal or that you were stealing yourself.

So to answer your question, I can honestly say I have never done this or even had a thought of doing this so I would be of no help to find your answer.

Most vending machines I use which is not often are in rest areas or hotels and they prefer dollars and credit cards and some of them do not even have a coin slot to drop coins into but they do give you the change.

Thank you very much for your reply!
I'm sorry, it's not clear written - it's my fault.
English is not my native language
