My TV remote would love to have a conversation with you about batteries, considering it eats them like there's no tomorrow!
Seriously, between the 5 remotes we should buy stock in energizer. If you want a serious battery sucker though, get an old school boombox.
Yep! What makes me mad are devices that have plenty of room for AA batteries and they make it for AAA batteries. Batteries being pretty much the same price for the same type and sizes AA, AAA, C and D cells. AA's will in most cases last 2-3 times longer than AAA's. Two of the greatest improvement on lowering battery consumption are LED lights and FRS/GMRS radios (walkie talkies).
I never could figure out “why” ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but every time I need the flashlight or whatever the object is to work ~ the battery is dead! Just happens too often. The last time a storm moved into the area and I wanted to have the portable radio on to listen, there was a dead battery. Same thing with my battery operated drill.
My remote thermometer unit outside (battery operated) died a couple of weeks ago and when I went to replace the batteries I found that they had leaked. Good Coppertop Duracell batteries leaked. Well I called the phone number I found and talked with them about their product. They were happy to have sent a coupon for replacement batteries in the mail and as well they even included a small check for the cost of the unit that I needed to replace. This is something that I didn’t expect the manufacture to do however it was very nice of them to provide a refund and reimbursement for a replacement.
Most of us know that Alkaline batteries have always had the longest shelf life. Duracells have been the best Alkalines in my opinion for ages. Apparently any type battery can leak once it becomes discharged. It's a chemical breakdown. For devices, particularly sensitive electronic devices, that sit around a lot but used seldom use Alkalines. For devices that are going to be used constantly and often cheap batteries will do. (Dollar store etc.) Now there's Lithium and NIMH batteries. We thought the price of run of the mill batteries were astronomical.
I think Duracell and maybe Eveready/Energizer possibly Ray-O-Vac provide for replacement of batteries that leak and possibly devices damaged by them. The more costly the device probably the less willing they'd be to replace it. Glad to hear you were taken care of Aks. I've lost many things to corroded batteries over the years.
I am positive that Mr. CSD sucks the life out of anything he uses that is battery operated with one use, especially my cell phone.
