You simply can't escape the risk of it happening, going to a grocery store or a department store, and every minute there, you're bombarded with Xmas songs, and it's inevitable with one of the songs, even if you've long hated the song, it can make its way into your head, just like a mosquito, and it'll play over and over and over and over and over again until you think you're going to go Koo-Koo, Koo-Koo!
Last night, I happened to walk into the cafeteria, at work, and I didn't realize they were planning on playing Xmas songs nonstop, through the season, and there I got Silver Bells stuck in my head! And, try as I could, I couldn't get that blasted song out of my head for hours!
How do you do it? Any quick solutions? Dunk your head in a pail of ice water? Bang your head against the wall? Stand on your head?
Carry an MP3 player and ear buds with you at all times. Create some playlists of music you really love. When offensive Christmas song comes on, insert ear buds, crank up the volume and go about your business with a smile on your face.
If I go to a grocery store or mall I can block out the music.
In my car/home I have Christmas songs on my IPod I like so I'm in control of which ones I listen to.
I'm so happy this year, since I lost my job, i do not have to suffer through the all Christmas music radio channel all day long that my ex-boss made us have on from before Thanksgiving until Christmas Day.

There's an idea! I find that these 33 decibel earplugs don't do much good, as they keep popping out of your ears! I have used them while riding the public buses, but, mostly, they fail to do the job!
