My dears, I'm SO sorry. I completely forgot that I was supposed to do the peeve this week! (That could be a peeve in itself, couldn't it? That nagging feeling that you're forgetting something, but you don't remember what it is until it's too late? Yeah, I'm peeved about that. But maybe another time.)

This week's real peeve comes to us courtesy of a suggestion from our friend PAhippo, and here it is, with my thanks to PAhippo and my deepest apologies for being tardy:

"What's that sound?"

It's that that unidentifiable noise that drives you crazy, but you don't know what's causing it or where it's coming from. Maybe it's a weird knock-knock in the engine of your car, or a rustling sound outside your window, or those creaks and snaps that a house makes late at night. What is that mysterious noise?

Here's a flower from my garden:

Wow what a beautiful flower Bay!

Yeah those noises can be very annoying, I have a hard time discerning whether it's my refrigerator making noises or the cat at the back door wanting to come in. The fridge makes the worst noises ever, I'm surprised it's still working at all. (knock on wood) It whirs and knocks, and makes a woot-woot-woot sound like it's in pain or something. But - at least I can still hear so there's that!

I love your unofficial peeve-knowing I should do something but what? sigh

I still haven't figured out the little clicking noise. I'm thinking it's my own personal gremlin because when I start looking for the source of the noise, it stops. As long as I don't get flashed. (I love the bar room scene in the movie Gremlins)

Beautiful rose, Bay. Is that a Peace rose?

If it happens when you're on the computer, it could be the hard drive working.
If so, it stops when you start looking because the hard drive is not moving when it's not being actively used.

Beautiful rose!

What's that sound.

Right now I'm on high alert for any different noises while I'm operating the combine. Catching a noise can save us from having costly repairs.

That nagging feeling that you're forgetting something, but you don't remember what it is until it's too late?

That seems to happen too often these days and now I find myself writing things down more often.

"What's that sound?"

If I can't identify the sound it means I need to replace the batteries in my hearing aids.

Yep, like in the middle of the night, in a strange bed, in a strange town, with strangers in the next room...

Nice rose Bay, is that a Joseph Coat variety? We had one similar a few years ago.
