Well I got a speeding ticket today and yes I was speeding, I was late for a doctor appt (no excuse). But now I have to decide do I do the defensive driving or deferred disposition? I'm leaning toward that, has anyone here done that? Any thoughts on it????
Was it in Houston? If so, good luck. My dad recently got one down there and he has had a heck of a time. The judge is only in about 2 days a week for you to get approval for deferred adj or devensive driving. He was told he must come at his court time no matter what. And he lives in Dallas. As big as Harris County is they should have some way of handling this w/o one having to see a judge. If my little city can do it w/o having to appear before a judge surely Houston/Harris County can figure that out.
Anyway, deferred adj is the way to go. I did it several years ago (many years ago). Okay, you better not jinx me . But it does work and helps a lot.

Yes it was in Houston and the ticket says I can do it by mail I think I am going with the deferred disposition, the last time I took defensive driving it was almost as much as the ticket. Thanks
I'm trying to figure out what the heck a deferred disposition is?I did not know of such a thing.
If I understand it correct, you still pay the ticket but more less promise not to speed, and you cannot get a ticket for 90 days. Also after 90 days if you haven't gotten another ticket, this one is dismissed.

Sorry, ILNC. That can sure put a damper on the day. Sounds like you're making the right choice in how you take care of it. Hope tomorrow is better!
